Fancy a break or want to pop into a shop along the way? Simply pause the tour and press play again when you are ready to continue. The audio will guide you to the next sight and keeps you informed about local history and architectural delights as you walk. The GPS map offers visual help if you need it. All you need is a pair of headphones and you’ll be on your way.

Audio tours are available in Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Mainz and Wiesbaden. They are linked above with brief descriptions. Click on the “Shop” button to read more and buy the tour.
Buy the tour
Buy a copy of the tour for each participant. Each copy has life time access.
After paying for the tour, you instantly receive an activation code by email, along with detailed instructions.
Access the tour
To access the tour, all you need is the free VoiceMap app and your activation code.
On your smartphone, install the VoiceMap app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Create an account.
Select Tour Codes from the menu, then select Enter Codes.
Enter the activation code that you received in the email, then select Submit.
Download the tour to your smartphone.
Explore your chosen city
Fully charge your smartphone, get your earphones ready and start exploring. The tours have a GPS led map and vocal directions which guide you to the next story and city highlight as you follow the tour.
If you feel like stopping for a restorative coffee break, or if there’s a scenic viewpoint that catches your eye and you’d like take some photos, no problem at all! Just pause the tour and then restart it once you're ready to continue your adventure.
You can also listen to your tour from home. Select Library from the menu and the tour you wish to listen to, then play Virtual Playback. The vocals start and photos that accompany the highlighted locations are displayed on your smartphone.

The majority of tours have good accessibility with occasional steps, and some buildings have narrow entrances. However, these do not prevent completion of the tour. Please read on for specific details:
The Heidelberg Castle tour is not recommended to those with accessibility constraints due to steep terrain and a high volume of steps.
The Mainz tour has one steep section leading up to St. Stephan’s church, and a narrow path on route to the citadel.

Yes. In Germany it is impossible to avoid cobble stones, so make sure you are wearing comfortable shoes.

Once purchased, audio tours are not refundable. However, tours are valid indefinitely, so you can take the tour at any date, gift it to someone else, or enjoy a tour via virtual playback.

Yes, all the tours have lots of walking and are perfectly doable with a dog. However, some buildings may restrict pets (with the the exception of guide dogs) so check upon entering.
