I’d never been to Frankfurt, so when my job sent me to an energy conference there, I was thrilled. I was less thrilled when I found out I’d only have a few free hours a day to explore, and my Fodor’s guide just wasn’t cutting it. My coworkers and I decided to hire a guide to the city and luck led us to Anne Noble. She’s a Brit and so has that newcomer’s enthusiasm that you rarely find in natives of their given city.

We were more interested in living like a local than doing a strictly historical roundup and so Anne customized her tour according to our needs. She has fully immersed herself in Frankfurt and so we were able to find the best cheese and then the perfect beer to wash it down with. Thanks to her, we saw a perfect sunset along the river—something we would’ve missed entirely without her guidance. We avoided tourist traps and instead dined at little cafes where nobody else was speaking English. Whether we needed her for a couple hours or were looking for a full-day excursion (which we were lucky enough to get), she showed us how to make the most of our limited time.

Anne showed us a side of Frankfurt we NEVER would’ve seen from the top of a double-decker tour bus. Her love for the city is infectious and I can’t wait to come back.

Anne exchanged messages with me to arrange a last-minute walking tour, for a layover tour for my daughter, a friend, and I. She was incredibly helpful and accommodating in the arrangements. The tour itself was perfect. We were all a bit tired from the trip across the Atlantic, but the pace, the sites, and the content were all first rate. I followed up a few days later and Anne suggested a great route for a running route on my follow-up layover on the way back.

She gave us perfect, succinct instructions of which metro to take to the city center, which stop to exit, which restaurant to wait for her (which was also perfect for our post-flight lunch). She also offered to meet us at the airport, but it was better and easier to meet her in the city center.

Anne is a delight. A highly educated, highly intelligent Brit, she was able to relate very well to us, and had just the right balance of historical and trivial information. I strongly recommend the tour, and Anne.

I have taken this walking tour with Anne as my guide several times simply because I learn something new every time! Her knowledge of all things German is impressive combined with her wit and ability to keep you fully engaged. Whether you have several days to visit Frankfurt or just part of a day Anne’s tour is not to be missed.

We wanted an overview of Frankfurt so we could identify places to come back to on subsequent visits and explore at our leisure. Anne was great as a guide, really knowledgeable and enthusiastic about this city. I gained a whole new insight into this city and can’t wait to return. Definitely recommend this tour especially if your time in Frankfurt is limited.
